Interesting, sad and well researched. In case anyone's interested (you never know), Broeske is teaching writing at UCLA extension this summer - it's the course Pat normally teaches in the fall, but it's been moved up. http://www.uclaextension.edu/ Go to Writer's Program, then courses, then creative writing, then non-fiction, then X401.16. Pat wrote books on Hughes and Elvis and writes non-fiction about crime for tv.
