It's just his turn. There are some in the business that the critics hunt for with a baseball bat. M. Night, don't go walking down any dark alleys. They're waiting for you.

The only problem with that article is that it asserts that Signs is a good movie and Unbrekable is a bad one.

. A dream can be a tough thing to share, especially when it’s the fantasy of turning yourself into a pop-cult star.

Actually thats also very telling. Shyamalan has failed to understand that your fans will make you into a pop-culture hero if and when you deserve it(there are occasionally mistakes but thats life).

Take somebody like Kevin Smith. He's a director thats a hero to many because he knows his own work, he has found his audience and he gives them exactly what they want. Shyamalan does it the other way around- he creates shit about himself then demands people take it and run with it- its pretentious and sad and I for one can't stand him.

Here is perhaps the ULTIMATE twist ending for "Lady in the Water"

Via mismanaged PR and an apparently bad film, MNS may have pulled off the nearly impossible by turning Disney studio executives into the good guys.

Ha ha - bet he didn't see THAT one coming - now he knows what it felt like to be surprised by the ending of the "Sixth Sense".
