Owen "let's forget about Dupree" Wilson, Jon Stewart, YouTube and this tit-for-tat: Stewart: "How high are you right now?" OW: "Well, I did just go on a jog in Central Park and I'm feeling a kind of runner's high, so you're probably picking up on that."

I saw that. Owen was definitely baked. He actually had a hard time formulating responses to Stewart's questions, and it almost seemed like he was having trouble just constructing sentences. I do appreciate his seeming utter lack of desire to promote the movie.

Maybe he was experiencing the kind of high one would get after capturing comedy magic on film like he did on You, Me and Dupree....wait a second, how high am I right now?

I'm really surprised about Dupree. On paper, it sounds like it can't miss. Wilson, Dillon returning to comedy (say what you will, but one of the funniest lines uttered on film is his in There's Something About Mary: "Those goofy bastards are the best thing that's ever happened to me"), acclaimed directors of one of the funniest television shows in history. I guess everyone got so excited the schedules worked out that nobody bothered reading the script. There is the possibility that studio intervention, and too many cooks in the kitchen, made this movie suffer from the original plan.
REgardless, Wilson looks high as a kite. Stewart's really good about that kind of thing. Just view any of the McConaghey interviews. The 2-day interview about McConaghey's goats is funnier than How TO Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Failure to Launch combined.

Jon Stewart's high-guy scene in "Half-Baked" demonstrates that he may know how high people behave, but he doesn't know how to act it on-screen himself. Fortunately he's smart and frickin' hilarious, so other people can do high for him.
