First Warner Bros. said Curtis Hanson's Lucky You wouldn't be going to the Toronto Film Festival. That in itself was a mild uh-oh. Then WB bumped the release date from 9.8 to 10.27. (The latter release date is currently proclaimed on the official website.) Now Hanson's gambling movie has been bumped to 3.16.07. Obviously there are further concerns. Perhaps the mid-March date -- over six months from now-- is about allowing Hanson to do some additional shooting and tweaking.

Man, Bana can't catch a break. He works with Ang Lee, Wolfgang Peterson, Steven Spielberg and Curtis Hanson and still can't catch the wave.

Does ComingSoon have a source on this? The Warner Bros. site still says Oct. 27, as does the latest Release Calendar, which went out yesterday.
It seems really odd that Warner Bros. would want to release this movie this same day as "300" and just two weeks before "TMNT." The only possible excuse would be that they want to bury it.
Who knows?

Box Office Mojo, I believe, has 300 moving up a week to 03/09/07. It's a bury move and given the pedigree of the directors he's working with, Eric Bana is now likely to be regarded as just a significantly more talented Colin Farrell.

enough all fucking ready with the Colin Farrell bashing. He's more than proved himself with roles in THE NEW WORLD, ASK THE DUST, MIAMI VICE, TIGERLAND, PHONE BOOTH, MINORITY REPORT, and even ALEXANDER to be a dedicated, passionate, kick-ass actor. I think this guy get's way too much shit...probably because he drinks, smokes, and screws half of hollywood...and does it with style. Farrell will be around for a while...just take a look at this upcoming credits, the guy keeps getting work. That means something...

I honestly can't think of a recent trailer from a genuine director that made less of an impact on me that "Lucky You". The title sucks, and I think the whole gambling scene (from TV Poker to countless Vegas-based storytelling) is getting really old. I like Hanson films, but this did zero for me.
