The new dayglo mustard-yellow backdrop of Movie City News is too much. I debated whether or not to say anything, but it's an eyesore. It's butterscotch pudding on peyote. There was a lady who lived two or three blocks from our home in New Jersey when I was a kid who once painted her house teal blue, and you needed sunglasses just to look at it. She was within her rights but taste cannot be taught -- it's a result of a thousand distastes accumulated over time, and either you get it or you don't.

I think it's just a temporary thing, part of a big Little Miss Sunshine ad push? That's what I assumed, since the yellow matches. You'll see this on Dark Horizons from time to time.

Yeah, it's clearly an LMS ad push, and while not conceptually worthless, the execution is terrible.

That's pretty funny considering the same damm ad is on the HE front page.

Hey, Jeff, isn't your Oscar Balloon 2006 the same color, pretty much?
Not to pick on you, though, 'cause I agree with what you're saying. I hate that color too; it reminds me of the 70's, it's All-in-the-Family orange. And I wasn't even BORN until '79.

It's the exact same yellow of your side banners, flip back and forth, they match. Did you see the early internet SOAP review I ran?

Some colors look great as an accent covering a small area, but are queasiness inducing when used as the main color covering a large area. Jeff's right, the VW mini-van butterscotch yellow color is fine in a small Sunshine ad, but makes me reach for the wastebasket when it fills the screen over at MCN.
Maybe MCN is using that color scheme to push You, Me, and Dupree. You know, starring the Butterscotch Stallion.

Speaking of the BS, when will Wells offer his analysis of the Hudson-Wilson affair?

Just take a look around the web...its advertising for LMS. Rotten Tomatoes has it, MCN has it, even this site has it!!!
