"I saw The Fountain yesterday, and I have to say it's just about the trippiest film since 2001. They should hand out bongs to every patron because this puppy demands to be seen stoned. It's kind of a mess, but I admire Aronofsky's chutzpah and the essential message that loves survives death. And those last 15 minutes? I felt like I was having an acid flashback.

"Sitting behind me, incidentally, were the geezer triumvirate of Jeffrey Lyons, Rex Reed and Susan Granger. The film ended, and they collectively gasped 'what was that about?' They need to chow down on some hash brownies." -- Manhattan-based film journalist Lewis Beale.

If you want to see a movie that's way trippier than 2001 or The Fountain, see Funky Forest: First Contact. Not only is it one of the best, most original films I've seen this year, but it makes many drugs obsolete, as it actually makes you feel high without the aid of any hallucinogens. If you can see it with an audience, I highly recommend the experience.

It's sad to see a movie flapping around like an oil-slicked seagull to the point where it's suggested people either take drugs before seeing it or that only those with prior "experience" would get it...

Wells to mutyinyco: There's nothing wrong with being designated a "head" movie, which simply means that it'll probably play better if you toke up (or drop) beforehand. That said, the idea of a movie "flapping around like an oil-slicked seagull" is funny.

I'm pretty jazzed about seeing this bad boy myself, Pi is the best of the couple of grand budgeted movies (it gets under your skin in an authentic movie way, not just the not bad for costing five cents way) and Requiem for a Dream is THE cautionary drug movie.

I saw "Best in Show" while stoned, and man, oh man, is Fred Willard funny while you're high.

I've been looking forward to this one for a while. Also, I see that on imdb, it lists Aronofsky's next planned film is an adaptation of Theodore Roszak's "Flicker." That's a really great book and should lead to another interesting, and polarizing film.

Flicker is about an Orson Welles-esque director who has been kidnapped by the Knights Templar and is lving on a secluded island where he re-edits the same film over and over ... But you only find that out at the end of the novel ... the lead character is a projectionist at a repretory cinema who slowly uncovers the mystery ... the kidnapped director had found a way to shoot a movie hidden within the movie, that you can only see with a special eyepiece ... that being said ... any film that you drop acid for is bound to be good, like National Lampoon's European Vacation ... so maybe is ain't such a good thing

Nice hair.
Nice chair.
Excuse me.
I said nice chair. You said nice hair.
I didn't say anything to you.
You said something about my hair.
So what.
I don't care if you're a cripple. That doesn't make it okay for you to say something about my hair.

I remember a person at the theater for the re-release of Yellow Submarine asking his companion if they had their acid ready.

Maybe that is why people are increasingly watching movies at home, so they can smoke joints. Anyway, I plan on being totally warped when I see Borat this weekend
