Except it's not the best-reviewed American film of the year... either "United 93" or "Borat" would claim that title (at least according to Metacritc and Rotten-Tomatoes).
I dread the coming attractions these days. Watched Babel this weekend and when I saw the Alliance Atlantis logo during previews (I'm in Canada), I thought:
-- "Fuck no, not again..."
-- Choo Choo!
-- "Nooooooooo!"
They aren't saying it has the MOST positive reviews, they're saying their reviews are the most positive. That's why they print the whole review - the idea is that these are raves, and there's no need for them to cherry pick quotes.

I think the poster was also made before Borat's reviews came out.
Not that it matters since New Line isn't really releasing it, and instead places this poster in the theater that's been playing the damn movie since the beginning.
Does anyone actually read those huge review-heavy standees anyway? You're in the fricking theater as it is. To me, the biggest selling point of that standee is that it shows the promise of seeing Ms. Winslet naked (again).

"Who wants to read that much stuff on a standee in a lobby?"
I'm always looking for things to do in the lobby when I'm avoiding the 20 minutes of stupid fucking commercials the theater slams down my throat after I've given them their ten bucks. Reading material is always welcomed.

Someone remind New Line that they still need to release this film.

Borat still at 100% cream of the crop at Rotten Tomatoes, 95% overall. Little childrean at 91% cream of the crop, 85% overall.

Oh wait, unless they think that Borat isn't an American film.
That makes a frightening amount of sense.
