It's a very curious thing, but the I-don't-get-it element is what attracted me. The fact that the guy who wrote the graffiti had something in mind that may amount to nothing by conventional absorption standards has, in itself, a kind of intrigue. Some things, like an accidental paint splotch, are better left unexplained. They just "are."
It might be that there is actually a Craigslist connection. Maybe the artist is trying to get the real message through. Or else he/she is commenting on how the relentless pursuit of happiness is sought out on CL. Or am I over thinking it?
Oh come on! It's a mediocre un-P.C. joke making fun of homelessness. Craigslist is where you go to find an apartment in the Bay Area. And Will Smith's character is homeless and needs to do what it takes to land a place to live in the Bay Area. Thus his story is "inspired by Craigslist." Not very funny. But not very subtle either.

my guess: the writer is suggesting that the will smith character is in for some hot "man on boy" action that he obtained by cruising craigslist.
do i find that funny? yes.
am i demented? probably.

I suppose this is what you get when all your news comes from the Daily Show.
It's an allusion to a recent news story where a man tried to give a 5 year old away using Craigslist. It wasn't on the level of 'Asian Male Vs. Mother Nature,' but it was out for a couple of news cycles a few days back...I'm surprised the site wasn't emphasizing its 'no selling humans under 18' policy.

Aside from the Craigslist/SF connection, I don''t either. If it's a joke, what's the punchline?

Not to make a big deal out of this, but we all need injections of utter pointlessness and inanity from time to time.

Craigslist is an homage to materalism.
Smith's character in Happyness apparently thinks that coveted state can be reached by vaulting the corporate ladder.

Perhaps this nonsense is here to make Jeff's return to posting photos of female bartenders he's spoken to (ordered from) more palatable?
