For me, at least half of the tingly rumble in Richard Eyre and Patrick Marber's Notes on a Scandal (Fox Searchlight, 12.27) is in the Phillip Glass score. Here are two tracks. If you let them in, you'll most likely be hooked. Think of Fatal Attraction but lesbo-ish and with no rabbits. And much smarter with some well-educated English flavoring.

saw this last night....what a nasty little thriller...I hesitate to label it as a "thriller" in a way, but it was edgy and dark and unrelentingly tense...some of the best acting of the year between Dench and Blanchett. And I agree with Jeff...the score is sensational and adds a layer to every scene.

I loved Philip Glass' music for this but it was one of my one problems with the movie because there was just too much of it and it was really overblown and cluttered up the movie too much. I think his score for Illusionist worked better since it was used in a more subtle way.

Yeah, I loved the music, too, but it was a bit "big" for this movie, which is basically a thriller. I honestly was disappointed. Well written and acted but, ultimately, kinda over-the-top goofy.

Glass is sometimes really overbearing in a film...The Hours comes to mind. He didn't get in the way of The Illusionist though. EDouglas's comments don't inspire confidence

The trailer looks intriguing, kind of "Little Children" meets "The History Boys."

Glass is the one of the most creative in motion picture, I heard his music played in a concert hall it wasn't that impressive, way too minimalist in my sense. I guess his music suit more scores...
