Earlier this evening 60 Minutes guy Morley Safer interviewed Helen Mirren, as if she needed another media voice telling everyone that she's got the Best Actress Oscar in the bag. Little Bitty Problem: the clips don't play and there's no sound to boot.

Just because Helen Hirren (deservedly) keeps on winning so many awards doesn't mean to say you have to keep on acting like one.

Saw the segment. The usual shameless Hollywood puffery I've come to expect anytime '60 Minutes' sits down with a famous person.

this is the year that egrgious Oscar babble has reached the point of no return ... Idlewild was more fun than Dream Girls and Helen Mirren starred in Shadowboxer

I recall an old Rex Reed column where he
interviewed Susan Sarandon around the time
of the release of PRETTY BABY.
The column opens with Susan on the phone
with the late showbiz columnist Earl Wilson.
Susan has to explain the premise of PRETTY BABY
TO Earl.
She whispers to Rex:
"He hasn't seen the picture!"
Morley Safer was just as clueless about
Helen Mirren and her filmography.

True. With that quiff, Jeffrey's halfway there.
