Moving Picture blog's Joe Leydon is calling attention to the open-to-the-public nominating ballots for the 27th annual Golden Raspberry Awards, which is about honoring the absolute stanky worst of the year.

The "hopefuls" for Worst Screen Couple include "Nicolas Cage & His Bear Suit" in The Wicker Man, "Tim Allen & Any Juvenile Super Hero" in Zoom, and "Sharon Stone's Lop-Sided Breasts" in Basically, It Stinks, Too.
Final nominees will be announced on 1.22; winners will be announced on 2.24, or 24 hours before the Oscar telecast.

I'd like to call attention to the Oscar statues going on display and open for public touching that will happen at Hollywood/Highland. Details anyone?

I know I'm complaining about the Razzies of all things, but exactly can you go on and on about how much you liked Rocky Balboa and then, for no particular reason, nominate Burt Young as worst supporting actor? Even more than Stallone, Young was the reason the movie worked, as both a mouthpiece for the audience, saying what we were thinking, as as being an example of what Rocky's life could have ended up as. Point being, it's annoying that a perfectly fine actor giving a perfectly fine performance gets tagged by the Razzies as a bystander in an attempt for this silly organization to 'maintain their cred' despite accidentally liking a Stallone movie. It's not the first time this has happened with the Razzies (they often nominate more based on tabloid coverage of given actors than the lack of quality of the work), but praising Rocky 6 than bashing Young is a bit like bashing Tom Hanks in Castaway yet wishing 'Wilson the Volleyball' to get an Oscar nomination.

"Nicolas Cage and His Bear Suit"...LOL. Poor Nic, he will probably never give a performance as good as in RAISING ARIZONA, just like Quentin Tarantino will never make a film as good as PULP FICTION.
