Chivo wins!

The Movie Gods are at peace. Children of Men dp Emmanuel Lubezki won the top feature film award at last night's 21st Annual American Society of Cinematographers Awards. "Chivo" also won the Best Cinematography category at the Orange British Academy Film Awards last weekend. This seems to pretty much settle it -- the Best Cinematography Oscar is Lubezki's to lose next Sunday.

I think he'll probably win too but sometimes a cinematographer can totally deserve it and win everything going into the race but then lose at the Oscars. Case in point, Roger Deakins who shot The Man Who Wasn't There. But, yeah, there isn't any Best Picture competition so he'll probably win. Pan's is the biggest challenger.

i don't know how much of a factor my tiredness is, but the above posting is likely to keep me giggling for the duration of half-hour drive home from work.
