This is a week old, but Peter Howell's review of the Oscar nomination disappointment factor among IMDB readers is interesting, especially considering there were more people dismayed that Children of Men failed to be Best Picture nominated than for any other film.

This is clearly slanted by IMDB's demographics, which would tend to be male and younger.

Saw Letters from Iwo Jima last night and it's a much better film than Children of Men. Technically COM is a wonderful film but I personally disliked most everything else about it.
Letters is a great film and probably the first thing Haggis has been a part of that I trully liked. I thought it was better than Million Dollar Baby as well. Unfortunately most people will avoid seeing it because of the subtitles and that it's only playing in a handful of theaters.

Peter Howell sucks. He sucked as a music reviewer and now as a film reviewer (IMHO).
Seeing him cited (twice today!) beyond Toronto, as if is some major force in film reviewing is quite baffling.
