More "Zodiac" reviews?

Hey, where's Todd McCarthy's Zodiac review in Variety? Somebody must have weighed in since my Friday posting. Less than three weeks before it opens...hubba-hubba.

"Agree about Zodiac," a Manhattan-based journalist wrote this morning. "I think the Fincher fanatics, and I mean the fan boys who geek out over Fight Club, might find this film, which is terrific, a disappointment. It's too cerebral, too procedural...too much about how this frustrating case takes over the lives of the three leads. What it's not is a thrill-a-minute ride a la Seven. Which is maybe why Paramount is a little afraid of it. But whoo, boy, it sure delivers the goods in just about every other way. And the leads are great."

Jeff, I see that you are going to sell us Zodiac as much as you sold Miami Vice, eh? Let's hope Zodiac is alot more worthwhile of my time than Miami Vice, those were hours of my life I am still waiting to get back!

To add: I guess McCarthy liked it or else you wouldn't have been clamouring for his review.

My review would have been up Thursday morning, but I was assuming there's an embargo, and I respect those.

*sigh* New Year... same fucking shit. At least in the Dark Ages, no one posted their reviews of stonings prematurely.

If Zodiac is anywhere near as good as Miami Vice (or better), I will be in pure movie-loving heaven.

70's, frustration, obsession, personal destruction. Sounds a little Munichy.

Just promise me that there's no scene with a tormented Jake G. having sweaty sex with his girl, intercut with flashbacks of the Zodiac's killings.

IClavdivs, I would take 10 of Jeff's over-inflated reviews of 'the fumes' in a nice looking but empty action film over one more post about a certain Academy Award nominated comedian.

However misguided, at least they come from a place of genuine enthusiasm for movies.

Plus, I hope Zodiac is great. Trying not to get my hopes up too high because expectations can be a killer, but still.

cjKennedy, so would I, lol. I wonder if Jeff has switched personalities or perhaps had what David Poland has had to keep droning on about his pet peeves and has forgotten that his readers come here for more?
