There's something comical about the fact that Ralph Fiennes, at the age of 44, is the new Colin Farrell -- a champion, a stallion, a serpent in the garden. Fiennes and four buck-naked ladies caused a mild stir by skinny-dipping in a swimming pool inside the Hotel Tuilerieen in Bruges, Belgium. Fiennes s filming a feature called Bruges (great title!), which also stars Farrell (yes -- a coincidence) and Brendan Gleeson.

Go, Ralph! Good on you - literally, it seems...
I can't wait until "In Bruges" gets out there. Martin McDonagh is a profligately talented writer; for those who haven't seen or read his plays, check out "The Lieutenant of Inishmore," which is completely outrageous. He won the Best Short Oscar last year for "Six Shooter" in which Gleeson was his usual superior self. Go get 'em, if you haven't had the pleasure...

I saw McDonagh's 'The Pillowman' on Broadway and it was fucking fantastic. He is definitely a total original.

Fiennes probably just inserted the story in the tabloids, because his 15 minutes was up after Maid in Manhattan.

I suspect that even if it was true - Fiennes wouldn't know his 15 minutes were up -

At Fiennes' age, it doesn't make him the 'new Colin Ferrel.' It makes him the new Michael Douglas.

Of course...
but only if you have a boring, predictable, unfunny by the numbers mind.
I bet you`re a NEO christian too, considering the original, old JESUS was close friends with a known prostitute.

I'm pretty sure that 15 minutes crap doesn't apply to Fiennes. The man has proven himself to be a fine actor time and time again ever since Schindler's List came out. You only seem ignorant bringing up that J Lo romcom and choosing to ignore his great performances in films like Spider, The Constant Gardener, Quiz Show, and the underrated Strange Days. Hell, he was the only one actually acting in Red Dragon.
Maybe you were thinking of Joseph Fiennes.

Re Mcflyboy's comment about Joseph Fiennes:
Joseph Fiennes was actually good in RUNNING WITH SCISSORS--to borrow an old Pauline Kael comment about Gregory Peck in DUEL IN THE SUN, perhaps Ryan Murphy used cattle prods on JoFi.
And Emily Watson's performance in RED DRAGON shouldn't be undervalued.

Remember, Ralph Fiennes is the new bad guy in the Harry Potter series. Almost by definition, he is now more popular (or infamous, whichever) than he's ever been before. (See: Guinness, Alec; re: Star Wars)

I've been to Bruges, as a side trip on a business trip to Brussells. I never would have suspected that it was the new Cancun, the Girls Gone Wild capital of Europe.
It's a little cold in Belgium for skinny-dipping this time of year. They must have been really drunk.

With Harry Potter, Constant Gardener, White Countess (great performance in bad film), and the voice of Victor Quartermaine in Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Rafe's 2005 was one of the best years for any actor recently. When he was on Broadway last year, you should have seen the women, most in their twenties, lining up--actually pushing and shoving--to see him at the stage door.

He might get decent films, but no one knows who he is, so it's pointless. I think the tabloids just mention his name to remind audiences.

Jimjonesiii a.k.a. overly-sensitive guy over 44 years of age or what-ev-er your name is:
You do realize that Michael Douglas is an actor and not a mythical, biblical figure, right? Cuz my comment had zilch to do with Jesus (the baby or the beard).
I'm guessing that you were actually attempting to raise a clentched fist in the air for all the old dudes out there still living mi vida henna, right?
You can relax, sir. Logan's Run was only a movie.
