In response to Bruce Willis being named as a former client of Hollywood madam Jody Gibson in a tell-all book hitting the stores today, Willis' pit-bull attorney Marty Singer has told Page Six that "it's a total fabrication...[Willis] doesn't know the woman, he's never met the woman. My client doesn't need to pay for sex, he doesn't pay for sex." Whoa there, sunshine...every man on the face of the planet pays for sex. Dinners, movies, pledges of support, career investments, gifts, lifestyle subsidies, spontaneous endearments, etc. As Otis Young's "Mule" says in The Last Detail, "Any pussy you get in this life you're gonna have to pay for, one way or the other." (I just checked with the great Robert Towne to make sure the line is correctly quoted, and he said, "Yep, that's it.")

While the tangent is amusing, this is really just semantics, Jeff. We know what he meant by the word "pay." I mean, by this logic, it's really not just pussy we're talking about. Every single thing in the world requires "payment." I have to pay to urinate every morning by dragging myself out of bed and stumbling down the hall.

For that matter, a rewarding friendship requires just as much "payment" as sex. If the implication here is the only good time spent with a woman is pussy-time...well, that's a bit misogynistic, isn't it?

I'm really just typing to type; I'm not being seriously disputatious.

But for the record Monaghan was gangbusters in "Kiss, Kiss,Bang,Bang". I reckon she would break out big time if she get a decent role (i.e. not the shitty role she was stuck with in MI:3). The girl has star quality so I hope she catches a good break.
