"Did Mike Binder tonight" -- i.e., interviewed him in conjunction with a screening series after showing Reign Over Me. I think I recorded it with your recorder but am afraid to check it for fear I don't know what I'm doing. Mike was excited I was taping it at any rate. BRILLIANT FUCKING MOVIE. Emotionally spent watching it. Adam Sandler...WHO KNEW??? My upscale West L.A. movie crowd even commented on the fact they would have skipped it normally because it starred Sandler but were drawn because I included it in my film series. They were BLOWN AWAY -- telling all their friends and worried people won't go see this movie. Big hit with this crowd, Jeff. Will other like-minded people even bother to check it out? I certainly hope so." -- note from a friend who runs a movie-screening class, received early this morning.

Taste Nazi, reporting for duty...
Query - "Adam Sandler...WHO KNEW??? "
Snarky bitch reply - Maybe anyone who saw "Punch Drunk Love?" Even if you can't hang with its conceits, it pretty well established Sandler's got a bit more going for him than "Little Nicky."
I've got my blind spots, but between this post and the Ruffalo "wha?" I can't help thinking that a few Left and Right Coast "upscales" need to break out of their comfort zones a little...

Mogul, you may want to note that pretty much the whole piece is a quote from a friend of Jeff's...this screening series is his, not Jeff's.

Thank you Ratskiwatski for beating me to the punch....drunk love.
First someone is mystified by the seemingly sudden materialization of Mark Ruffalo who it turns out has been busy being great for q and now there is great shock over Adam Sandler acting though it's not the first time nor is he the first comedian to pull off the same trick.
It's no wonder the studios treat audiences like sheep. For the most part, we are sheep.

This movie looks, like, totally stupid. I try to limit my movie going to films that are based on comic books, errr, graphic novels. And it helps if the title is followed by a roman numeral. And even then only on the opening weekend. If you don't see a movie on the opening weekend then what's the point of seeing it at all?

It's not only the Sandler thing that would keep people away. Did you see Binder's last movie, the Ben Affleck-starring, 'I never even saw this reviewed!' stinker, 'Man About Town'.
Starts off as a quiet introspective piece based around a crumbling marriage for the first 40 minutes, then takes one of the most embarrassing changes of tact i've ever seen, and tries to be some kind of wacky farce involving missing journals and Affleck in false teeth.
Not just A Little Bad, i mean terrible late sixties Studio-pictures trying to be hip 'n' with it bad. How the Razzies overlooked that one is beyond me, except, like i said, no-one seemed to have noticed it was actually released.
