Murphy is toast
Eddie Murphy is continuing on his glorious career-recovery path by covering himself in the terra firma of kiddie movies. Last year at this time he was thought to have made a turn in the road and was on his way back to true career vitalty with his said-to-be-triumphant performance in Dreamgirls leading the charge. Then he bolted out of the Kodak auditorium when he didn't win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar...nothing but class.

a film like this will make alot of money and he'll make his 20-30 million. whats not to like. good rated R pictures are harder to make and usually require a better and well paid cast and studios arent as enthusiastic, these cartoon and kiddy movies make tons of cash and he's got tons of kids so...

Murphy walks his own path. I honestly think that he has lost his "funny mojo" as witnessed by Another 48 Hrs., Beverly Hills Cop III, etc. Regardless, he's on his own path and people like his path so leave him be.

You know, I bet Eddie Murphy could really make a fascinating movie about his own personal life. Not since the films of Ed Wood would there be such candor and personal revelation. Maybe he could get a director like Lee Tamahori to direct. It would be compelling stuff, not like this kiddy fare, but I think maybe the red states wouldn't go for it so much.

Ock is right, Wells campaign against Murphy was about a classy as flies on shit. I can't stand Murphy at all, but I could care less if the man wins 25 thousand fucking Oscars. Look how Wells championed that POS "Crash" the year before! Gotta love how some people hate some shit, but can't wait to gorge themselves on other shit. really, it's all shit.
