No tribute for Jones

As of 6:15 pm today, the people running the E! website couldn't be bothered to post even a small-type mention of the passing of Andy Jones, a guy who worked and wailed for them pretty well in his heyday. He did a fair amount of on-camera work also. Jones had issues, okay, but he deserves at least a modest farewell piece. But I guess that wouldn't attract readers, huh? Really classy, guys. Hats off.

My favorite Andy memory goes back to one of our panelist pairings on Chris Gore's The New Movie Show. I made the argument that Dreamworks' execrable "The Road To Eldorado" was "the first gay-themed animated movie for children," and Andy countered, "WHAT??? I'm the gay guy here, and I didn't even catch that!" I loved that guy, and he will be missed. Oh yeah - E! not even mentioning him is par for the course for that heartless online hackery. Fuck those cunts. Andy had too much personality for them.

His "...heart gave out before a promotional screening at the ArcLight," says Variety. From what I've read (i.e. Chud), I think Andy could handle me saying that he was classy and thoughtful to the end. He was with his brother, and I hope that brought them as much peace as possible.

Anyone who thinks it was fatty jokes Wells was holding back is truly an idiot. Obviously there were ups and downs with anyone who bumped into Anderson over his life I'm sure. For an example of someone who is not holding back, read Poland's "tribute".

I could pass along a big emotional soap opera based on Andy's resentments about how David Poland out-flanked and out-maneuvered him during their early days at TNT Rough Cut, but life's natural rough and tumble sometimes means that sometimes people who are better politically and faster on the draw come along and take important things from you. The evil that men do lives after them, the good oft interred with their bones.
