I'm slow from time to time, but I hadn't seen the headless Statue of Liberty art for J.J. Abrams' monster film (i.e., the one that absolutely cannot be called Monstrous) until last night. Was it revealed at some earlier point?

According to an AICN scoop, it's the first of 3 posters. The other two being BARBAROUS and FEROCIOUS. I hope it's true.

Abrams confirmed at ComicCon that it is not called Monstrous.
This is a pretty cool poster.

As others have pointed out, does the way the smoke is coming up off a certain part of the island remind anyone of anything?

Can we just call this thing Godzilla, and be done with it? All this, "Is it called this?" "Is it called that?" posturing is almost as annoying as all the people who went nuts for the words "Snakes on a Plane" awhile ago.

what is it called? SUCKERS. Even if they call it howard the duck-as long as a giant monster is tearing through a city shriking loudly it's a godzilla remake, reboot whatever. Sorry folks it's godzilla be done with it.

Does it occur to anyone that maybe the head of the Statue of Liberty is what's attacking New York?
