As I wrote before, the notoriety of "Obama Girl" Amber Lee Ettinger is mildly troubling because of what that website video she performs in (www.barelypolitical.com) says about the intellectual and spiritual vistas of average 20-something women, which is that they can only get excited about a Presidential candidate (Rudy Giuliani has a few "girls" also) based on their perceptions of sexual power and/or charisma -- i.e., the "Daddy factor."

Imagine if Hilary Clinton looked like Valerie Plame. Can anyone imagine a guy (or guys) performing in a music video that expresses how aroused they are with her, and how much they'd like to do her? C'mon...

It's a safe assumption that Ettinger isn't very knowledgable about Sen. Barack Obama's political positions or personal philosophies, and that she hasn't read his book. Barely Political is ultimately about Ettinger trying to hook herself up with everybody and everything and wind up with a divorce, a Porsche SUV and a McMansion. And yet something tells me she's probably helping the Obama campaign.

No, they'd just dismiss her as a shallow piece of ass. I think it pretty much breaks down like this:

Attractive women - dismissed for being girly and unserious.

Unattractive women - dismissed for not being attractive.

It's a tough dynamic out there for the females.

Barely Political isn't Amber's site, she is only the talent for the video. In fact, it's not even her singing, she's lip synching.

What I find interesting about all this is that Obama has supporters doing pro-Obama videos for him (first the 1984 remake and then Obama Girl) and those people are doing it on their own!

Nobody would do a pro-Hillary vid on their own, so she had to do her Soprano spoof on her own dime.

Obama may or may not win the nom, but it looks like his supporters are more willing to trumpet their candidate.

That's good analysis BeachBum. He (and his wife) need constant exposure. Some professional help would be nice; his website is dull, and he needs a speaking coach and a trainer. His wife needs a makeover and some causes.

First of all, as has been posted above, Amber Lee Ettinger (which I will admit sounds like a name destined for porn) is merely hired talent. The song "I've Got a Crush on Obama" is the work of Leah Kauffman and Barely Political.com. I'm glad you consider every hired dancer and lipsyncer to be a money grubbing whore.

As for Hillary, check out Taryn Southern's Hot4Hill. It's awful, but then she didn't have a lot to work with.

But that's the New American Dream, Wells. You don't expect people to actually work hard and educate themselves, do you?

That actually makes me feel bad for Hillary. I think her best strategy is to go for the pity vote.
