Why Lohan film sank

The N.Y. Post's "Page Six" team is reporting that the producers of Poor Things, a Lindsay Lohan flick about a couple of women who befriend and then kill homeless guys in order to collect their life insurance (i.e., a kind of avaricious 21st Century Arsenic and Old Lace), has pulled the plug. One stated reason is because "Lohan's antics in Las Vegas over the weekend have scared the bond companies" -- will she go back to boozing and passing out in cars? -- and this has resulted in the funding for the film collapsing.

I'm hearing otherwise. A guy involved in Poor Things says fears of Lohan resuming her unstable off-set behavior wasn't the thing. It was cancelled, he says, because the producers couldn't raise enough foreign sales dough. However, Lohan's name was the selling point that failed to generate sufficient interest, so it may have been her fault after all. If this guy is telling the truth, I mean.

A Lohan friend told "Page Six" that the actress "had nothing to do with that movie shutting down. It was a mess to begin with. They randomly fired Channing Tatum for Giovanni Ribisi, and then financing fell through because producers spent money like water. It was only supposed to cost $4 million; Lindsay was being paid nothing for that role."

Ironically why? Because her going out clubbing is similar to the plot of two girls killing homeless people?

Who cares anyway? hearing about Lindsay Lohan is as tedious as hearing about Paris Hilton and Angelina Jolie.

I wish they'd all disappear already.

Let's face it, once a cocaine addict, always a cocaine addict (where you are using or not). I don't mean that as a judgement, but more as a fact, and I think Lohan's got this particular devil on her back.

Robert Downey Jr. seems to have overcome his difficulties and is now doing good work. Perhaps if Lohan follows his lead she may do the same.

Filthy Rich, you just hit the nail on the head. Lohan could make 3 earth shattering movies in a row right now and no one would care in the least because she's become an unbearable tabloid staple. Until she cleans up and vanishes from the spotlight for a good while, everything she touches will continue to turn into shit. If any of the producers of "I Know Who Killed Me" are reading, your movie is fucked, regardless of quality.

The difference is that Robert Downey Jr. is an incredibly talented actor. LL, not so much. I would never wish her ill but acting is not one of her talents. Hope she gets it together...and then prompty retires from "appearing" in films (wishful thinking, I'm sure).

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^This is absolutely true, in fact in her last film Georgia Rule, she actually gave a good performance and was one of the only ones in the film who got good reviews, but the media got attached to the bad reviews, that always a paper in from a paper or two and used the fact that the film bomb to trash her even more. Its unfair but also, people are SICK of her and they want to see her failing and they will use a small event to put her down, and I cant blame them since I feel the same.

Apologies in advance for this. LL is a good actor. Watch The Parent Trap remake, she plays twins even. But it is not enough, she is a hurricane of bad news, bad behavior and vanity.

The weird part is that Lindsay actually proved me right a theory that i always thought was stupid and wrong. I always heard that girls dont like sl#t girls and the female audience tends to reject those stars that show inappropriate behavior or are tooooo open about their private life.
When Mean Girls was released I thought Lindsay was cute and talented, and truly liked her, then she started to give interviews talking about how she loves to dress sexy, to be sexy, she started to realllly trying to hard to be next Marilyn Monroe, showing her vagina around in film festivals and awards shows, chasing the tabloid coverage like a street dog chases food, partying up with Paris, she wanted to be seen as a sophisticated woman (BARF) being in the media EVERY SINGLE WEEK for the last 3 years, ugh, it just turn me off. Her manager has to understand that girls prefers actress like Natalie Portman, Rachel Macdams, Anne Heathway, Keira Knightly , Reese Witerspoon because we can relate with those girls. I AM NOT saying that those girls cant have a great sex life, I hope Anne ass is getting what she deserves (she is hot) is just that those girls dont feel the need to exposure their personal lives in order to get media or a sex status, they are secure and confident even if they dont get nominated as Maximun sexiest woman, and we like that. (Another celebrity DESPERATE to win men approval is Jessica Simpson, UGH, how can you spell pathetic? )

I actually think she has talent, but prefers to squander it (and any goodwill it engenders) by behaving like a world-class asshole, but considering how awful her parents seem to be, is it entirely her fault?
