I'd say that Robert Downey Jr. was able to pull it off..only that her talent doesn't come close to his (or rather, she hasn't proven it does). So, yeah, I'd say she's probably done. Ann Heche has more talent in her left pinky and she still hasn't fully resurrected her movie career.

The E! writer Natalie Finn said Hollywood is to Lindsey what college was to herself (party time, not serious, boozing) and Lindsey had bad friends and bad parents who lived off her as a kid. Put it all together and you get the Lindsey mess.

You know how Mickey Kaus talks about the "Feiler Faster Thesis" in politics (that things that used to take years to play out fully can now cycle all the way through in a month?)

For all the hyperdramatic gloom on display here, I could just as easily see rehab finished by Christmas, round of talk shows in the new year, and good reviews for her indie movie by next summer. Or rehab finished by Labor Day, round of talk shows in the fall, and indie movie by Christmas...

Naw, I think this is a serious, real deal, fuck up, long haul ordeal, because acting requires strength and discipline and a business plan, and it's all been derailed and a long time in the making. Most of it not her making or fault, but she it spiraled away from her, nonetheless, so she's to blame.

The fickle, volatile nature of mainstream audiences will only increase with time and by the year 2040, pudgy little Brett Ratner Jr. will be directing her moderately successful biopic as a balding Jeffrey Wells attempt to reach his tired keyboard from his Hugo Chavez supporting wheelchair.

It's not like she's going to be playing Marv in SIN CITY in 15 years. There will be no Act 2 for her. She had her shot. Nice tits, alliterative name, ginger hair, a seemingly sweet nature. That's it. Besides, who's going to want to bond her? If she can't get bonded, who's going to fight for her, as so many (Tommy Lee Jones, David E. Kelley, Terrence Howard) have and still do for Downey?

Hollywood is like the Professional sports leagues (NBA, NFL, MLB) if you have talent, and can play (which clearly she can or she would not have been in countless films) you will get another shot, short of murder. Now granted most all of her rolls were playing the "kid/teenager" type, however she does have talent and beauty, those two things will get her another shot if, she cleans up after a year or so.

THolly said an "actress requires strength and discipline". Are those not movie roles? Does she not get paid? She is an actress in those films yet she, like so many other thesps, lacks the sacred "stength and discipline" that Holly insists is mandatory.

I would suggest looking to Winona Ryder as a barometer of what is 'possible.' I can see a number of producer's tempted by her name and the promise of 'this is the one that will put her (and "me") back on top.' Time frame, salary, and outcome TBD.

Okay Jammo, let me re-phrase Holly. REAL acting requires strength and discipline. Hilton has neither, and as an actor myself, I find it hard to even consider her an actress. She was famous for being famous first...only then did they start putting her in movies.

Besides, it's hard to classify what she's doing on screen as acting.
