"Gone Baby Gone" wide release

The 10.19 platform debut of Ben Affleck's Gone Baby Gone (which publicists still aren't letting anyone outside of editors and feature writers see) is out the window. The Boston-based kidnap investigation drama (it doesn't appear to be a "thriller" precisely, and I'm not sure if the word "procedural" applies) will now open nationwide on 10.19...one fell swoop.

Casey Affleck as a detective? Right. And what's with the banner flanking both sides of this page? Is that Sam Jackson playing another crazy ass black man whose sole purpose in life is to teach a young handsome white man that he needs to live each day as if its his last?

I think it looks like Ben Affleck may be able to direct. Good news! Maybe he'll stop taking the crap acting jobs now. And actually, MilkMan, I think Casey Affleck is under-rated as an actor. He can carry this one.

That made me laugh harder than I've laughed in a long time.

The Dr. Phil show with him was the best comedy on network TV in a very long time.

Pat should have stayed being a halftime quote jockey for CBS sports. Rumor has it Brett Musberger (sp?) kicked his ass one night.

I still remember when I first heard that audio of Pat O'Brien on the woman's voice mail. "Oh god I wanna lick your pussy." Still amazed this guy was able to salvage his career. Nothing Clinton probably didn't say to Lewinksy, but to actually hear him saying it...wow.

The book this is based on is pretty freakin' incredible, and I'm quite looking forward to this one. Wonder how much they're banking on Monaghan's increased profile with "Heartbreak Kid" to help launch the flick.

MattM is right. the book is great. Really intense. I keep hoping that Ed Harris pulls an Oscar nom out of this thing. His part looks great. I think Affleck (Casey) is going to be somehting VERY good in it. It's just a feeling from the book and trailer. I'm also hoping htis helps the other Affleck. He's more talented than anyone, probably including himself, gives him credit for. He's made good films before and I still have hope he might pull a few more out after.

Or did he blow you? I forget. Let me scroll up and look. Hold on. There it is. So you blew him. That's cool. When I was in high school I blew Val Kilmer. He came up to me at Toscana and the next thing I knew he's in my bedroom, unbuckling his jeans (that's all he was wearing, even at dinner, that's because he's professionally awesome). Which was kind of surreal because I had a Real Genius poster on the wall behind my bed. He never took off his pants, just unbuckled them. We went swimming. There's a knock on the door. I open it and its Jon Greis. Who is totally underrated. Hey. Action Man, you ever see Jackpot? I thought Jon Greis was really great in Jackpot. That's what I remember. I also remember that Val Kilmer took me to Gelsons. He bought two twelve packs of wine coolers. We got in the jacuzzi. He spilled candlewax on my ass and it did not feel good. The told me to blow him again it and I said no and that's when he got violent. But I've never blown Pat O'Brien.
