True story, no names, happened a few years ago: A big-name actor is being driven out to a location shoot in a rural area with a producer, a p.a. and someone else. The actor has a styrofoam cup with steaming black coffee in his hand. The producer, sitting next to the actor in the back seat, reminds that they'll be driving on a dirt road filled with big potholes, and that he needs to put a plastic top on the cup or else.

The actor says nothing, but it would be putting it mildly to describe the look he gives the producer as "hostile." The producer drops it, turns away...whatever.

Ten minutes later they're into the potholes and sure enough they hit a big one and almost half of the actor's coffee spills on his lap. Right on his balls. Big dark stain. You can almost see the steam coming off his pants, but the actor just sits there, looking out the window and sipping what remains of the coffee -- not a yelp, not a word. Because admitting he was wrong in ignoring the producer's advice would be totally unthinkable.

Question 1: Were there lids/covers in the car, but that's a major detail.

Question 2: Who cares? Actors hate to admit when they're wrong, and producers have to suck up to talent and not point out their mistakes. Without a name to attach to this story, it's completely meaningless, and worth a half-snicker at best.

Love the photo though.

I bet it was Marky Mark. No real reason why, but I could see him spilling hot coffee all over himself and not making a peep. Guy's from Southie, he's tough as nails.

Note to self: this is more of a 3am story, but whatever. I saw a moderately big "name actor" spring a boner in the 5th and final take of a shot. Not a peep from him, even the director didn't know. I had to point it out to him and the producers and editor because it was selected for the cut on the basis of other performance issues, and if I didn't, it would have been a dereliction of duty, because assistants have to inspect the footage that closely. I didn't say anything until it was in the scene. And sure enough, there was a big discussion about it and how the co-lead's husband would have a fit, and it remained in the cut, but was timed dark, so no one can't see it.

Ahhh, M. I like all these links (K. likes Yuma!), I go to all of them, it gets me out. About the Ford like Bacon connected actor, Eisenstein or Pudovkin? I can't believe CHUD got a yoga company that I buy from to advertise. (D., TLJ had great stuff on editing even though he uses trim instead of shorten and short ends incorrectly.) But please, leave me alone, I'll retire when D. promises to support me, and I'm busy high rolling on Ebay. No one wants to see the 4k screening of The Godfather Tuesday night? Sheesh. I promise to hate anyone who does.

I think this guy at work has echolalia because he keeps repeating over and over, "You know Black Sheep, I like that part where the guy goes Come back you Baaaaaaa-stards" ...
