"Blood" at Drafthouse

I'm skeptical but at the same time half-persuaded that a special Harry Knowles-orchestrated "secret screening" of Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will Be Blood (Paramount Vantage, 12.26) will be shown soon -- perhaps on Saturday, 9.22 -- at Austin's Alamo Draft House (on South Lamar) as part of Fantastic Fest (9.20 to 9.27). Two sources -- one direct, one second-hand -- funnelled the info. Paramount Vantage reps denied or poured water on the story. Draft House honcho and festival organizer Tim League didn't return calls.

Hate to break it to you Jeff, but there already was a screening of "Blood" at Paramount Studios this past weekend.

Wells to thatrader: A private screening of Paul Thomas Anderson's film on the Paramount lot would be, at this stage of the game, de riguer. A possible fanboy screening in Austin, if it comes about, would be exciting.

I have heard directly from a person who is "very high level" involved with this film that there will definitely be an Austin screening. He has not told me date/time or who will be invited.

I wouldn't be surprised if he scored THERE WILL BE BLOOD. Harry got MAGNOLIA for the first BNAT, and PTA and Harry are friends.
