Oh, it is his birthday. Eleven years ago, I drove to Rockville, Md., (living in D.C. at the time) to visit his grave on what would have been the great man's 100th birthday. It was surprisingly quiet, only a few empty bottles of alcohol, some cigarettes and a couple of candles near the headstone.

The movie that gave me my first erection was The Tin Drum. Or maybe it was In Praise of Older Women. I don't know which one it was, only that I was watching the Z Channel one day when I came home from school. Who knows, it could have been Luna. There I was, alone, eating a couple of Ding Dongs, when I got really super hard. I had no idea what I was supposed to do, and then, luckily, my sister came home from tennis practice. She sat down on the couch next to me and told me to take off my pants and my underwear, and I did what she told me to do, as my sister, per my mother's disappearance, had become my de facto mother, and at age 14, seemed to me to be the smartest person I knew. She took off all of her clothes, too. I remember she had a hard time doing since they were still pretty soaked. She lied down on the couch and spread her legs and told me to get on top of her, which I did, immediately. Okay, now I kind of remember, it was the Tin Drum, and the little boy was watching his mother have sex, and my sister started to play with herself while I was on top of her, and then she told me to pretend that I was like the man in the movie, going up and down on top of her, in and out of her, which I did. I mean, it's not like she told me to put it in her. All we did was dry hump for a while, and then she told me to get off of her because my dad was going to be home from work any minute. I think I remember doing this with my sister one more time, maybe a week later, and that definitely happened while we were watching In Praise of Older Women. This time we kept out clothes on. Or, I think I kept my clothes on. My sister was naked, as usual, and wet from working on her backhand.
