Here's a clip of N.Y. Times critic A.O. Scott and Richard Roeper going gah-gah for No Country for Old Men. Scott mentions at the end that Josh Brolin shoots a dog in both American Gangster (Denzel Washington's) and No Country (a pit bull that has it coming).

Stop giving shit away for a movie that's not even out yet!
Christ, some of us went nuts on you the other day for doing the exact same thing... do you not listen or are you THAT much of a self-centered ass?

I hereby nominate Brolin for the lead role in "The Michael Vick Story".
BTW, Scott's appearance with a clown like Roeper confirms his status as a hack. Anyone with a shred of credibility would tell this asshole to go fuck himself with a quickness.

Scott's one of the best in the game.
Why begrudge him wanting to be on tv? It certainly doesn't make him any worse a critic.

p. vice, just so we're clear, you've also impugned David Edelstein, Stephen Hunter, Dave Karger, Wesley Morris, Lisa Schwarzbaum and Anne Thompson, not to mention, um, Jay Leno, John Mellencamp, Harold Ramis, Brad Silberling, Kevin Smith, Mario Van Peebles and Fred Willard.

Saying a dog gets shot isn't much of a spoiler. Maybe if he said why the dogs get shot...

You spoiler-nazis are just incredible. If spoilers cause you this much agony, don't read movie websites.
The only spoiler that ever really irked me was when a "friend" told me who Keyser Soze was before I saw Usual Suspects. That was a dick move.
Movie sites discuss movies, spoilers happen, if you can't deal with it, get off the internet.

If you are afraid of spoilers than you should close your eyes and cover your ears when the trailers are playing because some of them give away everything except the ending.

The dog scene is so great. Makes me want to see the movie again right this moment.

It takes some balls to show a dog getting shot. I like it just because it is taboo.

I first thought this when I met him in April and seeing this video it occurred to me once again: there's something very Paul Giamatti-ish going on with A.O. Scott, isn't there?

Sean -- You betcha.
And does anyone have an idea what the fuck qualifies John Mellencamp to be a film critic? That's what I mean -- the show is a joke now. Kevin Smith? Brad Silberling? Can you find anyone worse? I suppose Jon Turtletaub is due for the Memo to the Academy.
Gene Siskel is rolling in his grave because his rotting bones are on fire.

The spoiler that irked me was the one my brother-in-law dragged out of my sister and me. We had already seen The Crying Game, and he insisted we tell him about the big jaw-dropping scene before he went to see it.
Then after he sees it he says, all blase and too cool for school: "Oh, it was obvious. You could see it coming a mile away."
Well, of course it was obvious to you, ya maroon! You could see it coming because you made us tell you beforehand!
Aside from that little lapse, he's a great guy.

Breaking a similar taboo was one of the shocking things in Pan's Labyrinth.
I only saw the first Jurassic Park movie, but I noticed that Spielberg put a taboo on dinosaurs eating not only children and dogs, but even adult females. The adult males, on the other hand, were mostly in the film as dinosaur bait.
Now that he's on a roll, maybe Josh Brolin can play George Bush dropping Barney on his head.

Nemo: The best scene in Jurassic Park: Lost World is when the T-Rex in the suburbs eats the dog. You see the dog house hanging by a chain from its mouth.
