Black List has no list

12.7.07 Update: This 12.8 N.Y. Times story by David Halbfinger about the current "Black List," a roster of highly regarded scripts that won't be seen on screens until late '08 or '09 (or perhaps not at all), has a link that that didn't work at first, but -- as of Saturday -- does. Update: Here's my own link to the PDF file with the full rundown.

If I had a vote, it'd go to Kyle Ward's Fiasco Heights. That'd make a cool fucking movie in the vein of Sin City.

I believe that Recount recently wrapped shooting with Jay Roach as director instead of Sydney Pollack.

Wolf of Wall Street and the Mann/Logan untitled Noir pic sound like for sure bets to win Oscars. Burn After Reading is going to be hilarious.

I really, really hope that the Mann/Logan Hollywood noir gets made and that DiCaprio plays the lead.

Wow. Tom Cruise's career is so in the tank that his next blockbuster, Valkerie, is on the list of movies that aren't being made!

Oh and 2 BFF's. How about that?

Huh, no mention of Bill Monahan's Tripoli or The Venetian...my understanding was that those were "hot properties."

Too bad the pitches/tag-lines/whatever-they're-called are some of the most boring, redundant, and uninformative 2-line summaries this side of TV-Guide. Who knows what these scripts are about based on them. Now, the real question is, where can I, your typically average gnome, get a hold of some of these for *my* light reading?

jeffmcm is indeed right, I had no idea. But HBO has pushed its British stuntcasting too far this time. John Hurt as Warren Christopher? Kind of inspired, but huh? Tom Wilkinson as James Baker? What the fuck? By the way, is this going into theaters?

If it's good I hope they go the AMERICAN SPLENDOR route. LONGFORD is one of the better movies I've seen this year, it's a shame it isn't competing for awards right now.

Christ, someone needs to get on the stick and make SELMA, pronto. Punch it up if it doesn't read well, but it's guarunteed Oscar for whoever plays King and Johnson.
