Three new post-Iowa New Hampshire polls -- WMUR/CNN, USA Today/Gallup and Rasmussen Reports -- are giving Barack Obama leads of 10, 13 and 12 points, respectively, over Hillary Clinton. John Edwards is significantly below Clinton across the board, so he's also toast.

It looks like McCain will win the GOP side of New Hampshire, really creating some chaos there.
I'd love to see McCain NOT get the GOP nomination, so that Obama could make the bold and brilliant move of asking McCain to be his vice president. What a ticket!

Except they don't agree on a single thing. Plus it would give us no one to run in 8 years, when McCain would be 81 years old. Besides that, hot damn!

It'll be interesting to see who Obama turns to, anyway. That could make or break his quest for the White House.

Obama's smarter than that. He needs someone with *respected* experience and no baggage, and certainly not a connection to the Clinton Dynasty that younger voters are seeking a change from.

Before you start thinking that Clinton and Edwards are "toast," look at the figures among the so-called "super-delegates" that will be going to the Democratic convention. I just saw a story over the weekend that said they are overwhelmingly behind Clinton (no reason for this support was given). They are not obligated to throw their weight behind any primary winners, so like it or not she still has a firm base of support.

Yeah, but if Obama rolls early and then dominates Super Tuesday, not even Super Delegates will have any ground to stand on for still supporting Hilary.

The reality is, if Super Delegates see Hillary as a loser and Obama as a popular favorite, they'll jump to him in a heartbeat. It's not like they're all from the South and he's the northern candidate; there's no ideological reason to support her, they're just signed up by her because they wanted to be counted on the winning side early. They still do.

Even if Clinton wins NH, that's it for her. Being a beltway candidate only guarantees you beltway states.

Which is more than I can do. Of course, I come to the site to read movie news, so this post from Jeff is hardly germain anyway.

Drudge is posting that the Hillary camp is considering OFFICIALLY throwing in the towel...whether one supports Rudy, McCain, Paul, Edwards, Obama, I think it's time to put the champagne on ice...don't want to prematurely uncork it, but the picture of the future leadership in this country just got a little sunnier. This is something we can all agree and celebrate.
