Okay, I made the mistake of watching NBC's "fake" time-delayed, Stepford Showbiz News presentation of the Golden Globe Award winners. If I had watched CNN or whomever else, the announcements would have been revealed to me earlier. I should have known that NBC would drag things out to make a full-hour show out of it. It was my mistake, but HE is hereby delivering a resounding thumbs-down to NBC's decision to play games.

I did the same thing until I flicked over to CNN at 9:30 and they were announcing Best Picture Drama and then most of the winners were on the Golden Globes site minutes later. I guess the NBC telecast were for the people in Middle American who don't have cable or internet.

I hated the NBC telecast, Billy Bush's moronic commentary was the worst. I couldn't believe he actually had the nerve to complain about Blanchett beating Ryan, saying Blanchett's performance was "just an imitation of a man."
What an idiot.

Did CNN have the same show as CBS with stepford entertainment journalists from all the other shows? They were entertaining for all the wrong reasons.

cnn ran the announcements uninterrupted on the larry king show (well, once in a while, you'd hear king say something like, 'good choice' or 'what a great choice'...but not on-screen)...then from 6:30 on it was king and a couple of th recapping.......
y'know...as the dust settles, i'm rather liking a normally 3-hour award show being done in 32 minutes..... i'm kinda hoping ampas doesn't get a waiver from the wga.....

Nope, CNN was an actual press conference with someone reading off the awards and someone just handed them (slowly) the NBC hosts who read them off. Too bad I can't ask for my money back from NBC.

Why watch it on television at all? I assume they would be running commercials even with the 30 minute length. The E! website had everything you really needed. Again, I love not paying for TV and still getting to watch most of my shows.
Yea! for Tina Fey for her win. Go 30 rock!

CNN is rebroadcasting now. It's the same as the CBS broadcast, because it started with the dreadful lady from The Insider. CNN did cut off the intro by the president of HFPA, though.

Sad news: HE friend and sometime poster Roger Avary was arrested and booked on charges of DUI and vehicular manslaughter:
'Pulp Fiction' screenwriter arrested after fatal Ojai crash
From staff reports
Originally published 05:29 p.m., January 13, 2008

Academy Award-winning screenwriter Roger Avary was arrested today on suspicion of manslaughter and felony driving under the influence after an automobile accident in Ojai in which another man was killed and Avary's wife was injured.
Ventura County Sheriff's Department officials said Avary, 42, who won an Academy Award in the mid-90s for the film "Pulp Fiction," was the driver in the single-car collision that occurred shortly after midnight in front of the Ojai Lumber Company on the east side of town.
A news release from the sheriff's department said Avary was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
Killed in the accident was Andreas Zini, 34, a resident of Italy who was apparently visiting the couple in Ojai, coroner's officials said.
Zini was transported to Ventura County Medical Center, where he died on the operating table shortly before 7 a.m., apparently of internal injuries, Senior Deputy Medical Examiner Craig Stevens said.
Avary's wife, Gretchen Avary, 40, was ejected from the car and found in the roadway by deputies. She was transported to Ojai Valley Community Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition late this afternoon.
Sheriff's deputies booked Avary into Ventura County Jail, but he was later released on $50,000 bail.
Attempts to reach Avary were unsuccessful.
Along with his work on "Pulp Fiction," which he co-wrote with the film's director Quentin Tarantino, Avary was know more recently as co-writer and an executive producer of the 2007 release "Beowulf."
He's also worked as a writer, producer and director on several other films.

Wow. That NBC bullshit was just about the most awful thing I've ever seen. Not that awards mean shit in the first place, but to have a first-rate d-bag like Billy Bush "honor" some of the best films in a very good year with his idiotic, snarky remearks seems like a slap across the face. What a fucking tool. Right now, I actually want to murder him more than that other Bush I hate. What a useless slag.

cj: Why am I the creep? I didn't gloat over the accident like Jeff did with Bob Clark. Nor did I make a movie about a guy who got killed in Pakistan a vanity project.
I genuinely feel sorry for Roger, because he seemed like he was finally getting his due; and now his indiscretion may have cost him his career. But his relationship with QT is unavoidable, and I doubt I'm going to be the only one who makes comparisons between the two in the near future.

You're diseased. Regardless of what you think of Mr. Avary, you're using a tragedy as just another soap box to stand on to make the points we're all so sick and fucking tired of hearing.
I feel unlcean even arguing with you about it.

jeff: I don't know the guy. What the fuck else was I supposed to say?
cj: So you're suggesting what's more important is for me to show sensitivity to an incident which could have been avoided than to hold the party at fault responsible for their actions? I mean, you think this doesn't bug me, either?! I trusted the guy to be the more hinged of the duo, and he blew my expectations. Now I not only have to live with the guilt of defending him all this time, but I also have to live with getting knocked down a few pegs. (Again.)
I sure as fuck wished this hadn't happened, because then I'd be able to make my usual rants without having to feel bad about them.
Now I gotta apologize for someone else's fuck-up. Well, if it makes you feel better, I'm sorry
I brought up QT at an inappropriate time, and I'll probably never do it again. I hope Roger does the right thing, and takes care of the family.

You still don't get it. You only feel bad because (a) you got called out on your usual bullshit, and (b) because you can't "make my usual rants without having to feel bad about them." Good. You should feel bad, now and always, for being an obnoxious, arrogant, self-centered jerk.
I mean, kudos to you for realizing that what you do is pointless ranting of no interest to anyone else, but get a clue already.
