Yes, tht was Shemp, who supported A&C in a number of their films; in fact, he worked regularly at Universal in the early 40s. This was an old vaudeville routine; this version (from IN THE NAVY) precedes the Kettles', but I believe there was an even earlier filming of it by another comedy team. (It's late and the brain is shutting down.)
