Film Jerk Oscar picks

Film Jerk's Edward Havens has his annual Oscar handicap articles up. Stats, stats, and more stats. The Best Picture article is of particular interest. Havens predicts No Country but personally favors Michael Clayton among the five nominees and picks The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford as the best of all the '07 films.

Jesse James was my favorite for 2007. But the "best" film was Diving Bell. JJ #2, TWBB #3, NCFOM #4, Zodiac #5.

I wonder if Clayton could get it?

I just saw Michael Clayton again. It is certainly as worthy as any of the other pictures. A taut and disciplined piece.

I'm struck the second time around by how good Clooney is. I had a pretty high opinion of him before but I really think the performance is subtle but nuanced. He doesn't get enough credit as an Actor. Capital A.

The Assassination of Jesse James is fucking amazing. I can't come up with a list this year. I hate lists anyways.

Michael Clayton, great film, but there was no body in the fucking car!!!! It just bugs me is all. But still, pretty damn good.

I knew Clooney was a great actor after seeing Solaris. Love that film to pieces.

Such a shame it doesn't get respect.

first time visiting filmjerk.com and I had to increase the text size twice, are others feeling the same?

yeah, jesse at number 1, clayton at 4; see, I haven't seen no country for old men or there will be blood, but keeping the two spots open, just in case!

Ah, Yes. Every year he subjects us to numbers and percentages, while all the while demonstrating that he doesn't understand the first thing about how statistics, percentage calculations, and probability analysis actually works.
