Lunar eclipse

I just ran out onto Melrose to see the lunar eclipse. It's something like 50% or 55% dark now, but the moon is so low in the L.A. sky right now you need to be out in the open and looking east without any buildings or trees obscuring.

I just ran out to my street to see the lunar eclipse. What I actually see is a bunch of stupid clouds.

It was high in the eastern sky in the Midwest as the eclipse went from partial to total. It's even higher now, and back to about 50%.

It's not just cool, it's mother-freaking freezing here! The sky was plenty clear here because it so damn cold tonight -- it's already -1 F.

Last year's eclipse was much more luminous.
