If I had taken this embarassing Milk-shoot photo of Sean Penn (as Harvey Milk) and James Franco (as Milk's lover Scott Smith), I wouldn't have posted it. But there's enough general interest in this Gus Van Sant film to trump the appearance of a photo taken by a falling- down drunk just before he hits the pavement. (Source: towleroad.com.)

I guess this confirms that, yes, they are going to show the monster.

Sean Penn starring as a gay San Francisco politician?
I can't wait to hear our resident wingnuts spout off on this one.
It's gonna be a long year.

I guess Jared Leto was already booked when they were casting for the boyfriend role.

not sure what's 'embarassing' about the photo...it's a quick candid, shot on the fly (where pics weren't allowed).......not up to your usual standards, but if it was all you could snap, of course you'd post it....
or, is it the content you find 'embarassing'?...that would be a different thing.....entirely...

Hey, is that Lawrence Fishburne in the lower left?
No one in this photo looks remotely like Claire Danes...

There are more photos if you click on the link...didn't realize Emile Hirsch was in this. Or James Franco, for that matter.

Reasons not to see this movie:
1) 70s hair
2) 70s gay culture
3) 70s music
4) Sean Penn as a politician (see All the King's Men, or rather, don't)
5) There's a very good documentary on the same subject which will serve all your Harvey Milk needs
6) It's a movie called "Milk," coming soon "Bread" and "Cheese"
Actually, the gay culture part might just be interesting, but the other 5 seem very solid reasons to not care about this.
Positives:
1) Robin Williams isn't in it like he was threatening for 20 years
