Discland

Cloverfield [BLU-RAY] (Paramount Home Entertainment, 6.3.2008) Disguised under deliberately goofy, yet deliciously edible-sounding, aliases such as Cheese and Slusho, Matt Reeves' Cloverfield was produced and rushed into theaters under an equally appetizing shroud of secrecy. From last year's incredibly elusive Super Bowl ad to the film's viral marketing campaign, Cloverfield had everybody scratching their heads and drooling in anticipation. Aside from the as-yet untitled title and the Blair Witch-ian visual style, the film's biggest appeal was the enigmatic creature who was last (un)seen hurling the decapitated head of the Statue of Liberty onto the crowded streets of New York City. All we knew about the mysterious beast was that it was big and angry. Now that the highy-anticipated project has come and gone, one question has fortunately been answered: Cloverfield was a major success. (continued)

If McCain becomes the LBJ of Irag, or if Hillary triangulates us into WWIII, it's going to be very hard to look back on this guy in 30 years and hate him. Probably because we'll be dead, but still.

Being the president you think they could have spent the money on a better camera to film it. the sound was good.

Oh, I'll still hate him. History provided us an opportunity to grow the hell up. Bush and his cronies dug in their heels and adhered to sandbox norms.

Stopping rape camps is not adhering to sandbox norms. The President has made some errors, but for goodness' sake, acknowledge the positive they have accomplished.

The things they've done to destroy this country go much deeper than just Iraq. No one will look back in 30 years and like him.
When Hillary triangulates us to WWIII...unfounded right-wing rhetoric. I don't like her, but come on...and the LBJ of Iraq? The things Bush has done that have nothing to do with Iraq are egregious enough.
It's documented proof that Al-Qaida is stronger now...oh, never mind..it does no good...
And you won't hate him...if you agree with crusades.
And did you hear what he was singing?
"Dick, my old compadre talking about some oil-rich Saudi..."
It's all a big joke to the mental midget...and you're all bearing the brunt of it and you don't mind...
Humanity will allow itself to be destroyed...

I just meant he's such a goof it will be hard to look back with anything but pity. He has no business being president, as I'm sure he knows.

This pisses me off no end. No point debating his legacy I guess, most Americans either support or despise him, almost all Europeans hate his guts, some America as an extention and a direct result, but being self-deprecating about these crimes (he makes what Nixon did look like nothing) reminds me of his jokes about WMDs at his slide show a few years ago. Tasteless and ugly. Democrats should learn from the Republicans: impeach. Hell, people get impeached for sex all the time, breaking laws and altering them to clear your own name makes me think he should run Italy.

Sure. Making the case for socialism is a positive to me.

He sings. He jokes.

People all over the world have died both physically and mentally because of this disgusting, vile man-thing.

I feel too sick to write anything else.

Do I need to link, Walter? This fuckhead sings it all too clearly. And Burma, what you say makes no sense. Pity, no, rage and disbelief, yes.

But Walter, you were probably busting a gut at his WMD joke. I know the troops getting blowed up looking for actual WMD's thought it was hilarious.

And of course, the second a Democrat does someting sexual, the Republicans scream IMPEACH! Unless they'e Craig or Vitter.
