I'm so frazzled about what I'm afraid may be dispiriting numbers in Ohio, Texas and Rhode Island that I'm having trouble paying attention to movie stuff, much less banging stuff out. Things will start to happen at 7 pm eastern, when Vermont polls close, and then the 7:30 poll closings in Ohio.

hey Jeff, I feel the same way. However, it may not be THAT BAD. EVEN if Clinton wins Texas, O may well get the most delegates. and if the fifty super delegates come out for Obama....well, that will be a boost. the I ching on line said Obama will have a winning night.....

Jeff I went through this myself all yesterday and most of this morning. Somewhere around noon EST I achieved a calming piece.
First, resign yourself that she will definitely win Ohio and will probably (given recent momentum) win the popular vote in Texas. She'll run away with Rhode Island and he'll win Vermont. Just accept it. Come to terms with it. Look at it square in the eye.
Step two, understand that, no matter what the campaign says, she does not have the math to win this thing without some kind of huge conspiracy-style move that would destroy the party (seating Michigan and Florida, lawsuits, Obama is a member of Al Quaeda, etc.).
Step three, read all the last minute political posts that are echoing this theme (she can't win given the math) after spending the last four days tearing Obama apart over Canada/Rezko stuff.
Step four, begin to understand that because of step two, even if the worst of step one happens, he still is in the pole position. The spin is the spin but the delegate math is the math and, as the Clinton campaign struggles to align spin with reality, they'll undoubtedly be led in their typical ugly direction and the public will again become disenchanted with her.
Step five, let the anxiety slip away. With your current state of mind, any surprise will be a pleasant one. If he wins the TX popular vote, for example, the race is over. That's a hope. Understand that that's what it is. But it's a not an unreasonable hope - with the probability being that everything's okay regardless but just a bit more protracted.

Does it really matter? Hasn't anyone been paying attention for the last 8 years? McCain is going to be the next president. I'm sorry, I don't want that either, but what country do you think you're living in? Are you living in a country that would elect a minority or a female into the oval office? What are some of you smoking? I mean, get a hold of yourselves.

This may be an unpopular point to make, but I'm starting to feel that if she continues to be this ruthless and goal-oriented while actually in office, using any tactic against drug companies etc, she will be able to do a lot of good. If Obama loses the nomination, the U.S can do far, far worse than Clinton, and Democrats should stop pissing on their own candidates if they hope to win the election. Or is leaving Iraq, getting universal health care and doing another cleanup on debt worked up by another Republican not important any more if the wrong candidate provides it? Not saying support Clinton over Obama, but don't burn all bridges either. I'm starting to kind of admire her again at the moment, even if some of her tactics disgust me. The same way I admire a shark, I mean.

Weren't the numbers for the last Super Tuesday skewed a lot more in her favour than the way they ended up the next day anyway?
Maybe Obama will be walking away with another landslide. Either way I don't think Clinton can win - she can just drag it out to the bitter end.
