Discland

Mafioso (The Criterion Collection, 3.18.2008) Nino Badalamenti is a supervisor in a car manufacturing plant who hasn't taken a vacation in over two years. On his way out the door to visit his beloved childhood hometown of Sicily -- with his blonde wife and daughters -- Nino is handed a package by his boss and asked to deliver it to a powerful and influential Sicilian gangster named Don Vincenzo. Once in Sicily, Nino has a hoot seeing friends and family, but his wife has trouble fitting in and is unfairly dismissed as a snob by Nino's family. Even more worrisome, Nino finds himself entangled in an intricate web of secret mafioso dealings and is eventually sent on an unexpectedly... elaborate errand. (continued)

Fish tacos at Grand Central Market.

Did anyone see the U2 3D IMAX movie? I ask because the 3D effects in the trailer were very hard to watch-- flashing strobes frequently blanking out one of the two eyes, so that it seemed to pop in and out of 3D constantly. I would have thrown up after a half an hour...

I saw U23D at sundance. Digital not IMAX, but it was fantasic. The 3D is amazing, but plays second fiddle to the concert. Would have been good in 2D. 3D wasn't annoying at all.

I live 400 feet from Johnnies, so...Johnnies! Titos!

Are you guys seriously asking him how the movie was? I mean, even while being bombarded with flashing ads to the right, to the left, the top and middle? I mean seriously?

Wells, did you ever dabble in photography? I've been admiring your eye since the Beantown pics.

There have been ads on this site for films that Wells hasn't loved
