"And so, at 11 o'clock in the morning, a prominent politician spoke to American voters as if they were adults." -- Jon Stewart on last night's The Daily Show.
And a suggestion by Chris Matthews about what Obama could/should say to Clinton about the Michigan revote. One minute and 31 seconds long, and a complete Clinton stopper.

Yo Jeff, the AFI Silver Theatre in DC is having a Robert Mitchum retrospective this spring and THE FRIENDS OF EDDIE COYLE is part of the lineup.

Apparently you haven't seen the clip of Matthews dancing with Ellen on her show and grabbing her breasts. This guy has zero credibility and quoting him is like quoting Regis Philbin.

Matthews credibility went out the window long ago but it wasn't unitl his last visit to Jon Stewart that he really displayed his true colors. He was hawking his book and from what I could gather(no I haven't read it) it's basically a celebration of the current state of the political process. From the interview with Stewart, he seemed to be a big fan of all the "gamesmanship". Stewart really called him out on his thesis and the interview grew rather uncomfortable. Stewart, like myself, couldn't understand how anyone could defend the current political process and the climate it has created.
You can see the interview here:

It's fascinating and it really underscores the complete disconnect so many pundits have with the general public. When Stewart calls him out, it's funny, Matthews seems almost heartbroken, like he really thought Stewart would get it and celebrate right along with him. Instead, Stewart pretty much kills him. I doubt we'll be seeing Matthews on the Daily Show anytime soon.

I link to that clip often. It's the proof how truly disconnected our media guardians are. Matthews can't believe his creepy bullshit is being questioned. I saw him interviewed on MSNBC last week and both his hosts said it was a "brilliant" book. Talk about circle-jerk.

All Matthews-bashing and no discussion of the idea he is espousing? Just because someone is a jackass does not mean that 100 percent of what they say is worthless. I was curious about the potential discussion of Obama's and Hillary's making that deal. Oh, well.

For a jackass, Matthews does make a good point. But there have been multiple put-up-or-shut-up moments Obama has ignored thus far, no doubt for various good reasons. For example, he could have had someone ask Clinton, following all that "McCain and I are ready to serve" BS, if she would support his (Obama's) candidacy should he win the nom. That would have forced her to admit his qualifications to be CIC, but no dice. To his enormous credit (if to the occasional detriment of his campaign, per the fickle spin cycle), Obama just doesn't ever take the bait.
