"We Are The Ones," the new will.i.am Obama video. More of a stadium-chant thing than a "Yes We Can" spiritual mantra whisper piece, but in synch with the heavier drumbeat of the moment.
Well Id vote for him cos i think that, like, I want a better future and he sez he will give us a better future and he says I can and I want to be able to do stuff and I think that the war is like so last year
I'm with VoiceofReason on this - seriously lame commercial that strikes all the wrong notes for me. This is the kind of shit republicans can legitimately use to mock democrats.
And seriously, Jessica Alba?!? Can you get any more vacuous? I'd love to see her debate Tina Fey without a script.
"Well Id vote for him cos i think that, like, I want a better future and he sez he will give us a better future and he says I can and I want to be able to do stuff and I think that the war is like so last year"
That's hilarious MAGGA. The scary thing is, it's not even that extreme of an exaggeration/mockery - the video really is that ludicrous.
And I say all this as someone ready to support Obama all the way in the general election.
I am for Obama too. But this personality cult is seriously harming his reputation in my opinion. If it helps get him elected, fine, but it does lend legitimacy to Hillarys cry to debate actual issues. Or it would if she hadd not made that horrible red-alert commercial. Two questions about the Hillary ad: 1. She has stolen the ad from a guy running for president in 84, right? So how is this different from "plagiarising" a speech? 2. With all the money spent on airing these ads, would it be too much to ask that they be competently made and have some production value? When you go nuclear, do it Michale Bay-style!
I like it when Obama says "Hope" and then he says "Yes we can." Wow! I just go all weak in the knees! Damn it, why do we have to wait 'til November? I wish I could vote for him NOW!
I iz anonymous guy on internets and I think I am being clevor and bold to make fun of rich and beautiful peeple that are excited to get rid of murderous thugs in white house.
Someone needs to give a serious beat down to whomever put Alba in that fucking video, and at the start to boot. I need to put a black ban around my OBAMA 08 button after seeing her in it.
I agree about the degree of 'a little too much.' Obama is not manufacturing these ads, so that's good. And Hill would give her left tit for this kind of groundswell, but um er, (wince)
If you're against the war and against President Bush I'll answer your question. I hope you have the decency not to lie just to get an answer to your question. That would be disgusting.
"I hope you have the decency not to lie just to get an answer to your question. That would be disgusting."
As somebody who agrees with many of your postings, you should know exactly where I stand with Bush. I don't need to know your name anymore than I need to know other's here. But your comment about "annonymous guyz" on the internet doesn't apply to me since I use my for realz name. And being jealous of the "rich and beautiful" people supporting Obama is not my grounds for thinking that ad sucks.
My comment about anonymous guys on the internet was directed at one person, and one person only. And that person was not you. I believe the obvious poor language makes it clear who my post was directed toward.
And the word "jealousy" never entered my mind when writing my initial post.

Let's see, Laura Linney and Tina Fey speak out for Hillary, but Jessica Alba and Ryan Phillippe prefer Barack. Seems about right.

I'll be voting for him but this shit is so gay. I bet half the celebs in there couldn’t explain a single platform of Obama’s.

All very compelling.
But I think I'll want to see ALL of the candidates' commercials and fan-produced videos before I decide who I'm going to vote for.
