I used to think Olbermann was just a big blowhard but think he's really coming to his own with these past couple of rants. He may still be a blowhard but he's an entertaining blowhard.

Criticizing our lame duck president and his "worst ever" administration is kind of like shooting ducks in a barrel. It's kind of heard to imagine that anyone can support or even want to associate themselves with Bush anymore.

It's just nice to know that someone, anyone, in this country is still capable of outrage. I share Keith's feelings about most of this, but even if you don't, I think you have to agree that it's important to have someone speaking like this. Agree or disagree, it should prompt Americans to continue talking, learning, and trying to see other viewpoints in forums just like this one (as vehement as that rant is, why aren't there more comments here, btw?), and I think that's fantastically important as the election draws closer.

Yes, as fun as that is, there was a much better segment yesterday when after the White House complained to Olbermann's bosses at MSNBC that he was running soundbites out of context. So, he then proceeded to run every one they had complained about in their entirety to show their was no cherrypicking.

It also had the added benefit of reminding anyone who might have forgotten just why Bush is usually kept from speaking too long on his own: he always sounds like the guy in History class who decides to spout off his dad's world theories only half-remembered.

Talk about emboldening enemies.

Slobchak's inability to admit to, or even comprehend, the realities of the Bush administration's conduct continues to amuse and amaze all of us here with brains.

I especially love how the nitwit keeps unfavorably comparing Olbermann (who is more articulate in his sleep than Slobchak's beloved Rush Limburger) to Edward R. Murrow, as if (had he been alive 55 years ago, when the GOP really had some mojo!) Slobchak wouldn't have been blubbering the exact same idiocies about Murrow himself, as if he wouldn't have been behind Joltin' Joe McCarthy 100% back then. (Slobchak Book Club favorite: "Treason" by Ann Coulter.)

I repeat: start your own blog already if you're so clever. I think "GetWithTheProgramOrDieYouPinkoFags.com" is still available.) Make your case somewhere else -- here, you're just a sad little barnacle on Wells' ass, a gnat in the ear of those who actually know what the truth sounds like.

Do you see how stupid, how utterly lacking in logic or reason, that makes you look?

You spend all your time here fronting for a man any thinking human being knows is indefensible, strictly out of some demented loyalty to your party or your yahoo home state or your blinkered upbringing. “He may be an incompetent idiot, but he’s MY incompetent idiot, so nyah-nyah! …conveniently blowing right past the simple FACT that yes, Bush and his Pappy have killed more Iraqis than Saddam ever did, with the glorious results being…oil at over $130 a barrel, an increase of 400% since Bush stole office. This really was a war to ensure cheap oil, as Karl “Turd Blossom” Rove let slip awhile back? Excellent work there, guys.

(Hmm, how much was a barrel of oil when The Devil Bill Clinton was president? Let’s see: about $110 less. So, are you better off now than you were 8 years ago, Slobchak? “Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., said Exxon's annual profits increased from $11.5 billion to $40.6 billion in the past five years and there was no explanation for ‘why profits have gone up so high when the consumer is suffering so much.’” (AP news, today.) But of course that couldn’t possibly have a thing to do with the fact that the President and VP are both oilmen. Why, only a silly, naïve and unpatriotic liberal could conceive of such a thing!)

So, dear Slobby, while you’re sort of good at using this diversionary tactic, you’re too dumb to admit or even realize that’s what you’re doing. WE know you’re doing it – you do it here every day – but you have yet to grasp the concept. (Then again, most Republicans can’t even grasp the concept that’s it’s not the 1950s anymore, and that maybe a few things of value were produced during the godless Communistic hedonism of the 1960s....whatever. Their loss.)

To paraphrase Hunter S. Thompson (another godless loony lefty liberal): “There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an inability to admit Bush’s total failure as president.” So how does it feel to be among that 27% of unevolved dumbasses who refuse to acknowledge what the rest of the world has known for at least 5 or 6 years now?
