"By seeking to tear down opponents and pander to voters, the Clinton campaign is playing just the kind of politics that Americans say they detest. We need a president who can forge consensus and compromise among ideological foes. Barack Obama is that kind of Democrat; Hillary Clinton is not." -- from the Chicago Tribune's 5.4 editorial "Indiana, Go With Obama."

That sounds cool. So when Obama is the Democrat nominee I'll look forward to him not tearing down McCain or pandering to voters.
All is well.

Like the high-falutin' words of a newspaperman mean shit to the people whose votes actually decide elections.

I dunno about that statement -- Hillary's been able to kiss and make up with Newt Gingrich and Richard Mellon Scaife.
Though they may both turn on her once the primary's over.

1.) Contrary to the whines of Obama supporters, this has not been a particularly dirty campaign.
2.) Obama's camp has been just as underhanded as Clinton's; if anything, they're just less transparent about it

Hillary is doing what she has to do to get the nomination. She is tough. When I watched her on O'Reilly last week, I couldn't help but wonder how she will do against McCain in the debates. She is going to put a beat-down on him, and he'll be speechless. Since I don't care who wins, I can be objective about it all.

Barack's been in the Senate for almost 3 1/2 years. If he's such a consenus forger and compromise maker, where is the track record? Contrast that to McCain, who actually DOES walk the walk (McCain/Feingold, Gang of 14, Immigration).

Movie Watcher: If I know Hillary the way I think I'll do, she'll compliment McCain, make some speech about supporting the troops, and then not actually address any of his arguments.
Farris: Um, McCain was an *accomplice* in the S+L Scandal. And he walked away from MLK day.

Walk the walk? More like flip and flop. He's reversed himself on torture, tax cuts, and his position on Iraq and nation building is 180 degrees from where it was in the 90s.
"Mr. President, can anyone seriously argue that another six months of United States forces in harm’s way means the difference between peace and prosperity in Somalia and war and starvation there? Is that very dim prospect worth one more American life? No, it is not.â€Â
