Harvey's Tough Move

"In a heated phone call with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi late last month, Hillary Clinton supporter Harvey Weinstein threatened to cut off campaign money to congressional Democrats unless Pelosi embraced a new plan by the movie mogul to finance a revote of the Democratic presidential primaries in Florida and Michigan, according to three officials who were briefed on the contents of the conversation." -- filed this morning by CNN White House correspondent Ed Henry.

I hope that is not true.

Harvey used to be somebody. No more.

Harvey bought Shakespeare in Love a Best Picture Oscar and he seems to think he can buy Hillary the nomination.

I guess ripping a movie out of a director's hands and ripping an election out of the voters' hands is more or less the same thing these days.

WTF? Apparently Michigan's floating a compromise plan agreed to by the Clinton and Obama camps where Clinton would get 69 delegates and Obama 59, and the superdelegates would be up for grabs. Nice to know that you can hand out delegates without counting actual votes! (since Obama wasn't on the ballot in MI). But the party is never going to sign off on a new primary, or even a new caucus in MI.

That dirty fat bastard Weinstein needs to STFU. He hit on my sister at an after-party once and she threw a drink in his face. Tool.

As a champion of the independent film, one would think Weinstein would be a fan of Obama given that O represents something new (I know HW's from NY).

Harvey is a fat fucking douche bag who still believes he's the ultimate puppet master and instead he's a street bum on Wilshire Boulevard. He's a ghost of the obnoxious, yet occasionally savvy human being he used to be. His movies are shit today - he's completely lost his edge. Instead of being the distributor of gritty films like There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men, he's the bitch behind Great Debaters (a TV movie dressed up as a feature) and sentimental, saccharine shit like Grace is Gone. This is the man who used to have a cock and balls and release films like The Cook The Thief, etc. and Tie Me Up Tie Me Down and Pulp Fiction. Today, he's trying to be Disney. He's burned bridges with almost every director he's ever worked with (save for Tarantino). Even Rodriguez has taken his next project elsewhere. I have a friend who is a very cool director who's threatening to take his name off one of Harvey's big movies this year because Harvey is attempting to cut the heart and soul out of it - not to mention all the nudity. I've seen the director's cut of the film and it's excellent, but it will never be seen by audiences in its intended version. This fat fuck is a virus that infects everything he touches. He has no respect for filmmakers and in his deluded mind believes everyone in Hollywood loves him. He's succeeded in spite of himself - but no more. He's butchering the one film he actually has a chance of earning credibility with this year and he's also pissed off all the Star Wars fans that would support Fanboys (regardless of whether it's actually a good film or not). If you're a director and you sell your soul to Harvey, don't ever expect to get a real movie made. If Harvey had any vision (which he clearly doesn't) he would be supporting Obama over Hillary - but since the man has no nose for talent and fights every director on any original casting choice, it's no surprise that Hillary is his girl. And she's going down big time, just like his whole smoke and mirrors company. And good riddance.

cutting nudity is a cardinal sin of Indie films! Harvey must go on trial.

But Miramax did release There Will Be Blood and No Country For Old Men so his legacy is doing a better job with his parasitic ass slogging about and going off about Brothers McMullen.

lawnorder: I think you've forgotten that he was the auteur behind Playing For Keeps. I think his vision with that film gives him all the room in the world to be test screen TWC movies within an inch of their life.

By the way is the movie that you were referring to Hoodwinked 2?

Seriously though, is it Crossing Over?

It's got to be 'Zack and Miri Make a Porno', right?

Back-up guess: "Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired". Just wouldn't play as well without the sex.
