The loft-style studio is just south of the Cimitiere du Montparnasse on rue Gassendi. Cheap -- found it on Craig's List. Fantastic wifi, all the comforts, cool neighborhood, no tourists.
Damn that's a sweet pad, Jeff. Me and the wife could use about a month up in there—without you, of course. No offense.
It was a great seeing you on the Croisette, the Orange lounge, and best of all, La Pizza. Enjoy your Paris sojourn—it should be built in to every hard-working Cannes journo's trip.
Oh boy Kenny, in no particular order, did ya hear me, your Dolcestinky NY review is incomprehensible and Wells isn't up to writing about it, the "paid" film critic that he is, but maybe the HEir apparent Jett can write a few posts, or at least the headers, because ever since Jeff adopted this new format, they've stunk. And did ya read A.J. Benza's delusional post about the demise of his 2-sec-spead-into-90 review gig and the great Anne's "support" of his effort, because you're such good buds now, but since I know he'd have nothing to add to the Synchdouche discussion, I'm not missing him. For being such a mean asshole, it's amazing how nice I am.
How much did it cost and for how long are you there? I had a great hotel room once near the eifel tower on a side street (fith floor walkup)... 40 bucks a night, but I suspect those days are behind me....
Did you arrange this before you left or from cannes?
It honestly never occurred to me to check craigslist for a place to stay...
There is hands-down nothing crazier on this blog than when T. Holly calls someone else's writing "incomprehensible."
T. Holly, not only are you just plain strange in your whims and obsessions, but everything you ever type sounds like it was translated into English by Babelfish.
Glenn could wipe his butt on his keyboard and come up with a more thoughtful and articulate post than you every single day of the week. Leave him alone, freak.
Mr. Drew non-McWeeny, or "you big mean weeny" if your prefer, you wouldn't know where to find, much less read, his review or anyone else's. And why stop at just defending him?
Your comment is interesting and insightful, to an extent, but I wouldn't call it intelligent or accurate.
"How can something be insightful but not accurate?"
Easy. You're making an apples to oranges comparison. "Accurate" generally refers to factual statements that generally can be considered "true" or "false." "Insightful" generally refers to how a particular statement or series of statement can add depth to a third party's understanding of existing or new aspects of an idea. Being "accurate" or "not accurate" might not even apply.
