Fantasy Moguls' Steve Mason is reporting a 23% surge in yesterday's receipts for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull, resulting in $30.8 million and a projected three-day tally of $100 million, and a projected five-day count that will be "close to" $150 million. Second biggest Memorial Day weekend haul in history, he says.

Teehee. I was right. This tent-pole should've easily gotten $200 million, but Lucas killed it with his awful script.

It already went down to 7.7 at IMDB. A few more points, and it'll be in ToD territory.

Temple is great! It's the greatest big budget summer movie of all time. Why? Because it's completely off its fuckin' rocker. I think Lucas and the gang were all snorting some crazy 80's coke when they made it. Snake eating? Ripping out hearts? Lava pits? Chase scene over said lava? Check to all! Absolute insanity.
Skull is a lameass attempt to recapture that insanity. Daring and crazy morphed into retarded and idiotic. Floating gunpowder. Surviving nuclear bombs by hiding in a fridge. CGI prairie dog reaction shots. A Tarzan homage, with CGI monkeys. Piss poor writing all around. Awful. Someone should bitch slap Spielberg for this shit. I expect this shit from Lucas. Spielberg and Ford should've sedated Lucas and locked him in a closet while they made this. My guess is that most of the bad ideas were his.
