Feelings Are Everything...Right?

As MSNBC's Keith Olbermann quipped today, when Hillary Clinton spoke today to legislators about her future plans and whether or not she should concede to Barack Obama, a majority said to her, "What are you doing?" Anyway, she's agreed to finally be gracious, show a little class -- the thought! -- and concede on Friday.

Enjoy the superior feeling, gloat all you like, Jeff. Come November, when McCain wins and the GOP is gloating, just remember you and all the other bleeding hearts had it coming.

I'll remember it, EOTW. Just like you'll squirm away and go "who, me?" like the disciple Peter when McCain doesn't win. And how am I gloating by noting that Clinton had to be forced by legislators to show class and graciousness?

Yeah, Jeff, you and the other bleeding hearts should've let Hillary steal this from Obama the way the bleeding hearts in 2000 let Bush steal it from Gore.

Neither Obama or Hillary care what Olbermann has to say, I trust. Why should anyone else?

I mean, who in the world would take heed of this pathetic individual's rantings? God help the United States if we elect a President who would give a rat's ass what KO has to say.

EOTW: The only way McCain is going to win is if he rigs the vote like Bush. And even the GOP doesn't have confidence in McCain the way they did in Bush.

Richardson: You're unknowingly making an argument for why Obama should be nominated.

Kidkosmic: Olbermann is an audacious, entertaining and intelligent journalist/essayist/commentator whose words are taken seriously by hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of discerning individuals. You, on the other hand, are a pathetic nonentity who posts on blogs while remaining too cowardly to sign your own name. Guess whose opinion I value more highly?

And before you or anyone else wants to attack me for writing this -- unless you are willing to attach your own name to your attack, as Olbermann does every time he offers commentary -- or, for that matter, Bill O'Reilly does every time he offers his -- then you, too, are a coward whose opinion doesn't matter to me. Blather away, it won't matter.

Wells to Leydon: Well said! Wells to Kid Kozmic: The human drama is so much more interesting if you don't try and reduce it to this or that, if you catch my drift. Give it a little thought, think it through, weigh the pros and cons, apply the lessons you learned in high-school about composition and sentence structure and then post a reaction.

no one questions KO's intelligence, Joe...it's his unbridled hatred for anything or anyone conservative (not in the Republican sense of the word, but the true definition that should appeal to many of his "small-government" ideals that he seems to espouse on a nightly basis)...there's just no chance of watching his show and actually learning anything completely...his show has become a regular session of "bash hillary, bash mccain, bash mccain, bash hillary, oddball, bash oreilly"...example: didn't even mention Obama's split from his church but will devote 20 minutes to McCain's "pastor problem"...it's like a big democrat pep rally and even when dems behave badly, they seem to have safe harbor at Countdown...

Wow Joe Leydon, you post your full name in the comments section of a movie blog. Talk about personal courage.

Meanwhile I hide behind an alias to avoid personal responsibility for my words.

BB: I post my full name wherever I offer commentary, whether it be on an op-ed page or a movie blog, or as a talking head on a TV newscast. On the other hand -- as you admit, you avoid personal responsibility. Not exactly a profile in courage, sport.

Supertatser: Weak. Very weak.

Howlingman: Probably correct. I can remember that, around this time in 2000, some "experts" were already saying, in effect, stick a fork in Bush, he's done.

My personal politics are so far to the "left" that none of these candidates are talking about what I think they should be (I have hope -- as in, I hope he gets in office and governs a lot differently than he has trying to get there -- for Obama, but lets all be real, that's all we have, because we don't know what he'll be) and I fucking HATE Keith Olbermann.

Personally, I find people who like this sort of smug, self-righteous, table slapping schtick because it fits there personal politics -- and the same goes for Republicans who like O'Reilly -- hard to take seriously, and that includes my own mother, who would probably physically attack O'Reilly if she saw him but looooooves Olbermann. (And, to be clear, I generally agree with what he's saying, but I hate the WAY he says it ... when I can even stomach watching him.)

Hey, Keith, this isn't Sports Center. Politics are supposed to be, like, really important. Thanks for lowering the bar on discourse, though, because your legacy of ruining sportscasting, something that's ultimately trivial, wasn't enough .... apparently. Now put the biscuit in the basket.

You are the equivalent of something I would scrape off the bottom of my boot. You want to throw rocks through people's windows, then run away lest you be found out. How could I possibly respect what you or anyone like you has to say? You want to say something, bitch? Then have the balls to be accountable for it. Otherwise, kiss my ass. What it comes down to, Joe, is that you are an egomaniac, and any opportunity to spread your name is one you will take, even if it is on laughably inconsequential message boards of third-tier industry insiders...

If Joe is so "laughable" and this board so "inconsequential" then it doesn't speak well of your being here pissing and moaning, as opposed to doing something productive with your life.

ogami, i didn't call joe laughable, i called this board laughably inconsequential, as in having no impact on the world...getting so riled up about someone trying to explain why they use a pseudonym is waaaay to intense for such casual fare...but being inconsequential doesn't disqualify something from being a fun or engaging diversion, as this board can sometimes be...it's when someone resorts to name-calling and denunciation that one needs to step back and gain perspective.

...so not only did you completely misrepresent my statement, you also mischaracterized our argument...i'm not here pissing and moaning about anything...i talked about olbermann's weaknesses as a television personality and political pundit...leydon exploded at what was a benign explanation as to why i post under a pseudonym...

...i bet that one-line at the end felt really good, didn't it...i'm happy i was able to brighten up your day...

Cheers!

...well all i can say is, if Wells has such contempt for anonymity, he shouldn't post things like "well-respected NY directors says..." or "friend of producer on new Cruise film emailed me to say..." so before you draw lines in the sand for others, you might want to check with them...besides, i HAVE emailed Wells under my real name numerous times...

...i'm not in the industry, you wouldn't recognize my name anyway, so it's not that i'm hiding, it's that it doesn't matter, so why give real weirdos an opportunity to be mischievous? i'm not out there making outrageous comments so there really is nothing to be held accountable for...i don't seek glorification or even credibility, this is a simple diversion that doesn't warrant such seriousness....

...oh what the fuck, i don't know why I'm being so civil while YOU are the one behaving like a reactionary child hiding behind a computer screen...you're using your real name? Big deal, you're still saying things from the safety of your home that you would never say to another person face-to-face, and *I'm* the pussy? You're mustering all of your internet courage to call out someone in the style of a 13 year old in a chat room, and I'm the pussy...whatever you say, old man...

Sorry I trashed your hero Olbermann in such a calm and reasoned way...then again, using you and Olbermann as examples, I guess seasoned liberal-types prefer a more hammy, ostentateous, self-righteous, intellectually-stunted, adolescent style...

...peace, love, enlightenment...what a joke...sydney pollack would be proud...
