I'm curious how they will mix the Imax footage sequences in the movie. The trailers are presented in 2.35, the Imax footage is closer to 3:4. I guess the screen surface will "open up" during the Imax sequences, but what about the regular theaters? Will they used the Imax sequences cropped up, meaning the extra surfaces in Imax will be screen filler with no essential information, or are they shooting two versions?
Well seeing how they cropped some of the Imax footage from the I am Legend 6 minute preview for the latest trailer, I'm gonna say that it looks pretty great still.
I wouldn't call it useless information that's lost, but it probably never was meant to be the focal point to begin with. Same idea will get across no matter which way you see it.
Does it not bother anyone else how similar Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker seems to be to Jack Nicholson's performance? I'll hold off on 'blatant rip-off' comments until I've seen the film but it just seems a little close to the bone. The laugh, the same maniacal 'Jack' energy...?
It's the same character. There's bound to be similarities - of course in my eyes Jack was playing Jack in Batman more than another character. This seems to be deeper rooted than a glorified personality role. Still the best thing of that Imax footage on the site is Harvey Dent studying a coin. That's a great foreshadowing moment.

I'm pretty sure they are going to crop it for regular theaters. And it should still look great.
