I'd like to think that a citizen-artist adjusted the prices on a real-life sign at an actual gas station, rather than some guy Photoshopping it in his basement. I'd also love to find a larger photo of this shot. If anybody has a link...

Unsure if this is one is photoshoped, but at any rate not original.
From 2003 (from a version a friend has on her fridge)

My money is on Photoshop. ARM and LEG? At lease those words strive for verisimilitude. It looks like they're individual letter-cards. --but they're not the same size. FIRST BORN, etc. No way. Upper and lowercase? The letterspacing kerned within an inch of its life. Stacked? How would that work exactly?. This graphic designer says fake.

Sorry Jeff, that's a chain mail gag from a long time ago, and definitely Photoshopped.

The gag even predates 2003; I've seen it several times and recall it from many years before then, so I don't know who originally came up with the idea. The sad part is that back then an "arm" and a "leg" would have equated to a $1.50 per gallon.
The "firstborn" bit is a new one, though.

Jeff, if you go to Google Images, you can find literally hundreds of variations, both real and 'shopped.

I like this real one from back when gas was under two bucks!

If you believe this is real, I've got a rich Nigerian relative who just needs your bank account # so he can leave you his inheritance.

Wells, shouldn't the polar bear lover in you be rejoicing? 'Cause it looks like he's locked in a tussle with your inner cheap-ass, and he's losing, at that...

Meanwhile, in movies, the ReelGeezers tackle the Polanski documentary.

Not as sharp as some of their other critiques but still a hoot.

I don't know how to get new information to Jeff. Channel 5 News at 10 just said George Carlin died. He was 71. Heart failure.

Yeah, there's NO oil drilling already happening in the US! WTF? Truth is, we just don't have that much here anymore... and it's more expensive to get out of the ground here.

Here's another lesson from Economics 101:
If there's a shortage of supply, then the oil companies wouldn't have record profits (not grosses, NET PROFITS). We ARE being gouged...
