Cloverfield [BLU-RAY] (Paramount Home Entertainment, 6.3.2008)
Disguised under deliberately goofy, yet deliciously edible-sounding, aliases such as Cheese and Slusho, Matt Reeves'
Cloverfield was produced and rushed into theaters under an equally appetizing shroud of secrecy. From last year's incredibly elusive Super Bowl ad to the film's viral marketing campaign,
Cloverfield had everybody scratching their heads and drooling in anticipation. Aside from the as-yet untitled title and the
Blair Witch-ian visual style, the film's biggest appeal was the enigmatic creature who was last (un)seen hurling the decapitated head of the Statue of Liberty onto the crowded streets of New York City. All we knew about the mysterious beast was that it was big and angry. Now that the highy-anticipated project has come and gone, one question has fortunately been answered:
Cloverfield was a major success.

well to begin with CDG is one of the most bizzaro fuckng airports i've ever passed through, like taking a tour through unused parts of some unwritten JG Ballard book. It feels like leftover sets from Solaris crossed wtih a Citroen ad from the 60s and death. Likewise, there's a reason why the PS3 is doing much better in Europe than the US. Gotta say though, the PS3 sucks as a game console for the most part, but it's a hell of a blu-ray player.

I have to agree, I use the PS3 as a Blu-Ray-player and it is excellent. But I don't own a single game so I can't say if it's bad or anything.
I haven't seen one of those PS3 sets in Sweden though.
Weren't Microsoft teaming up with someone to install Xboxes? Or maybe that was at hospitals?

I remember, Jesus it's about 20 years now, but when the Nintendo came out, they had kiosks at the airport in France. I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen, and I was convinced that French folk were playing an advanced version of Mario brothers that my 9 year old mind couldn't understand. Nostalgia is fun!

I saw a few of these at the new Nationals baseball stadium here in DC. It doesn't make much sense for kids to be playing these when they're paying for a ball game, though.
