Thanks very much to amctv.com's Christine Fall for tributing Hollywood Elsewhere as site of the week in a piece that went up earlier this afternoon. All flattery is welcome. Every little bit helps. Even when there's no link to the term "site of the week" on the front page. If you go to the main site you have to click on the words "Future of Classic," which means nothing recgonizable to me.

"Future of Classic" is AMC's little dig at Turner. "Look, we don't show Oscar-winning black-and-white masterpieces. We show crap like Navy Seals and Firestarter and do Don Knotts marathons, all chopped up and filled with commercials for freecreditreport.com -- but our demos are much younger!"
If if weren't for Mad Men and Breaking Bad AMC would be completely worthless.

AMC does show more than it's share of mediocre films, but they still show some classics; although the programming is not as good as it used to be.
